Tamale Utrecht U-13 completed a two day tour of the Upper East region. The youth team played two matches whilst on the tour and visited the Paga Crocodile pond. The Youngsters played the Upper East U-13 regional select side and won an emphatic 5-2 over the home side on Saturday.
Tamale Utrecht struggled in the early stages to settle on their tactics apparently due to the hard ground at the Bolgatanga Park. They however gained their composure after 10 minutes and took lead on 13 minutes. Tano Shadarck reached the byline and delivered a shot into the far corner of the post.
Shadrack was exertive in midfield due to his familiarity with the ground as he hails from the area.
Four substitutions at the break by Coach Osman Rashid strengthened the TUFA side that attracted the fans attention earning the accolade ‘Barca boys’ from the home fans. Goals by Abubakari M. Sadat, Sulemana Lateef and a brace by Ibrahim Lukman gave a dominant TUFA the win.
The young Kasalans managed a draw in their second match on Sunday with the regional U-15 after both sides got on the score sheet in the first half. The home team was ahead in the 10thminute but a strike from left back Abubakari Saddique from a free kick deceived the human wall into the far corner of the post.
The Academy earlier visited the Paga crocodile pond and was also at the Ghana-Burkina Faso border.
