7th June, 2014.

The technical director of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Baba Nuhu Mallam has outlined the procedures the Academy will be looking out for as the final stage of the 2014 search for new generation of talents begins on Tuesday.

Baba Nuhu Mallam said these in a meeting with all caches of the six teams involved in this program on Monday ahead of the commencement of the event at the TUFA Complex in Kasalgu.

One hundred and eight young players were selected out of over 2000 from 120 colt’s teams across the three northern regions and are set to fight for places as TUFA continue to outline its intentions of developing young and talented players in Ghana.

The brain behind the establishment of TUFA is to give young boys the opportunity to explore their talents through football and education. Thirty players are expected to make the cut this year with scouts from the Netherlands and TUFA supervising the process.

The 108 boys who arrived in camp on Monday were briefed by TUFA’s technical team on what is expected of them during the orientation session. Six teams are expected to play a round-robin competition to determine the selection of players and Mallam beliefs it’s doing to be tough due to the talents the boys possess.
