WEEKEND DEFEAT TO GALAXY FC COST UTRECHT DIVISION ONE SIDE THIRD PLACE

3rd February, 2014

The division one side of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy have surrounded their position on the Division one league Zone 1A after the weekend defeat to Galaxy FC.

TUFA went into the game, third on the table but victory for Guan United coupled with their defeat on Saturday has cost them their place among the top three.

Coach Mumuni Gamel will have to gather all resources and tactics for the rest of the matches in order to realize the team’s chances of qualifying to the middle league.

Guan United defeated Wa Africa United 6-0 on Sunday and therefore jumped ahead of Utrecht on goals difference heading in the second matches of the second round.

The last fixture of the week came off on Monday afternoon as Dynamos lost at home to Bolga All Stars by a goal to nil to move the Bolga side also on 11 points, leveled with Galaxy FC and Utrecht with a game in hand.

Utrecht will welcome bottom side Bazooka when the league resumes on the 15th and 16th and will be looking forward to bouncing back from their opening second round defeat to boost their qualification to the promotional playoffs.
