YOUNG KOTOKO ARE TAMALE COLTS CHAMPIONS
26 March, 2012
Curtain was finally drawn on the 4 month long Tamale colt’s league soccer competition on Sunday with Tamale Young Kotoko emerging as champions of the U-17 category beating Eagles 2-0 on penalties after a pulsating 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Young Kotoko opened scoring in the first half in a highly interesting encounter which was witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd at the Kaladan Park. Great Eagles however came back into game which was mainly dominated by the young reds and equalised 5 minutes away to the end of the first half.
Great Eagles marshalled a strong back line to keep the sharp attacking forwards of Young Kotoko at bay who dominated most part of the game with telepathic connection in midfield.
In the U-15 category United Babies were winners whilst Zaytuna Babies picked the championship slot in the U-12 category.
