TUFA - Nana AsareGhanaian international and FC Utrecht player Nana Asare Akwesi came to Tamale for a soccer clinic. Thirty two players were selected from clubs within the region to participate in this three-day program taking place at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Nana Asare Akwesi: "There are so many talents in northern Ghana. The boys really showed the best they could and they enjoyed it so much. It is great to work with these youngsters.” According to Jawhari Baba-Duah, logistic coordinator of the event, the most important thing about this clinic is the recognition that young people receive. "We are worth to play with Asare, to lodge in a hotel and to receive materials for our clubs. This clinic is a huge boost to their self-esteem. You see them growing." Abu totally agrees. "Smaller clubs in Africa - but also first division clubs – do not always train on a regular basis due to lack of money. Money for transportation and materials is not always available. This clinic provides a new impetus to the spirit of players and clubs to increase their commitment to regular training."

The players rested in the morning of the third day and played a friendly match against Guan United in the afternoon. The match ended successfully and the participants of the clinic won with 4 -2.
