SUPPORTERS OF RTU ADVOCATING THE REMOVAL OF ABU JONES FROM THE CLUB
30th of August, 2011
A cross section of RTU supporters are advocating the immediate removal of Jones Abu Alhassan from all RTU related activities over his exploitative and unprofessional way of player transfer in the club. Abu Jones who was recently voted out of the executive committee of the Ghana football association is been accused of selling players of the club without management approval.
Four players of the club namely Benjamin Boateng, Sumaila Atia, Sumaila Nyaaya and Moro Ibrahim were allegedly release by Abu Jones without the knowledge of management. Leader of the group who gave his name as Kalusha told Tamale base North Star FM that the continues stay of Abu Jones in RTU will further deepened the clubs woes. The group is therefore calling on the Northern Regional Minister who is also the chief patron of the club to expel Abu Jones from RTU. The Tamale based side was relegated at the end of the 2010/11 campaign after 33 years of top flight football. The team will now compete in the first division league in the upcoming season and seeking to make a quick return to the premier league.
