WAKASO’S VILLAREAL HUMILATED BY ALLMIGHTY BARCA

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso was a second half substitute for Villarreal as FC Barcelona trashed them 5-0 on Monday night in what was the seasons opener, after the first round of matches were boycotted last week.

The 20-year old replaced Gracia Ruben Calmachi on the 59th minute when the yellow submarines were already down 3-0 at the “camp Nou”. Wakaso who was cautioned in the 84th minute for a foul on Mascherano recently extended his contract by 3 years. The former Ashanti gold midfielder was part of Ghana’s under 23 Team that lost 3-1 to Nigeria in the 1st leg of the all Africa games qualifier last month. The midfielder was an unused substitute when Villarreal beat Danish side BK Odense to qualify to the group stage of this seasons UEFA champion’s league.
