The cause of the FA Cup semi-final is not lost on Tamale Utrecht after making history of qualifying to the quarter finals for the first time in four attempts.

Victories over second-tier side Starke FC and premier league side B.A United seem to have sunk in well amongst the Kasalgu based team as they prepare for another onslaught, this time against Accra Heart of Oak.

"TUFA is not under pressure to win the the FA Cup," said coach Baba Nuhu Malam, who is now in charge of the Club after the exit of Mumuni Gamel. "But we are here to make history for TUFA. We promise our fans we are going to do our best, though the Ultimate is not our priority, but the performances of the boys is a clear signal that if the cup comes in hand, we will take it”

"I believe that deep down in our hearts that we are going to win this trophy. Four times, we have been knocked out at the early stages and this time we are going to win,"Malam told tufaghanafc.com after the draw was conducted. Nania FC won it as a first division side, so why not, we can emulate that though is not going to be easy especially against Heart of Oak.

TUFA drew 3-3 with the Phobians during pre-season after taking a 3-0 lead and Malam is optimistic of his side’s chances.

The draw also saw the winner of the outstanding match between Asante Kotoko and RTU paired against the winner of the match between Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies.

The last eight stage of the competition which has been scheduled for Sunday May 31, will also see WAFA play as guests to the winner of the match between Great Astronomers and Medeama. And the winner of the match between Aduana Stars and Istanbul will host Sekondi Eleven Wise.

The FA Cup Committee will however soon announce dates for the three outstanding matches as they await the Disciplinary Commitee’s ruling on the match between Aduana Stars and Istanbul which ended abruptly.
