TUFA OPEN 2014/15 GH BANK DIVISION ONE LEAGUE WITH VICTOR
22nd February, 2015.
Tamale Utrecht Football Academy opened the 2014/15 GN Bank Division One League on a good note after overcoming Bolga All Stars 1-0 at the Academy Field on Sunday.
A 79th minute goal from new recruit and former RTU and Asante Kotoko midfielder, Mohammed Fataw, secured all three points for the home side, who breathed life into their new coach, Baba Nuhu Mallam on his debut division one league match as head coach.
A barren first half saw Mallam making quick substitutions, when he brought on Iddrisu Osman in place of Kassim. But it was another substitute and academy product, Mohammed Naeem who stole the show when he came as a second half substitute.
TUFAS dominated right from the 60th minute and were eventually awarded with their hard work when Naeem cut into the area of Bolga All Stars finding Fataw, who slaughtered in the goal after a scramble in the penalty area.
TUFA pushed for more goals afterwards but couldn’t find any but held on for the three points ahead of their short trip to Tamale All Stars on Wednesday.
