GHANA U-20 MIDFIELDER SEIDU SALIFU READY TO MOVE TO EUROPE AS LIFE IN TUNISIA BECOMES FRUSTRATING.

18th February,2014.

Ghana’s youth star and former Wa All Stars player, Seidu Salifu has described life in Tunias as frustrating after a difficult first season with Club African.

The U-20 star, whose performances at last year’s World Youth Championship in Turkey caught the attention of some big clubs in Europe was speaking to tufaghanafc.com at the Tamale Utrecht Football Academy Complex after training with coach Mumuni Gamel’s first division team ahead a return to the north African country.

After a couple of interest from Europe, Seidu finally signed for Club African in the Tunisian league and made an instant impact where he featured in the first seven games and winning man of the match in two occasions.

But speaking to Sey Mubarick after the training, he stated the Tunisia league is not a perfect ground for players to develop their talents. He outlined the difficult nature of the league and said it is only few Ghanaian players who have made it so far in their footballing career in Tunisia.

“Though the Tunisian league was rated the best in Africa and so it tells you how competitive it is but if you are a black player and you go there, you need to work extra hard before you can get regular playing time. I thank Allah for the move though I was looking forward to a bigger club which is the dream of every player, but this one came and I have to take it”

“I was fortunate when I got there because I was performing well and my colleagues knew that. But the challenges in football will always come no matter what, that is why I’m saying all black players who intent plying their trade there should work extra hard.”

Salifu is expected to leave for Tunisia in the coming weeks and is optimistic of sealing a move to Europe at the end of the season.
