TUFA SENIOR TEAM ON A WEEK PRE-SEASON CAMP IN CAPE COAST
September 29,2013
The senior team of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy is on their pre-season camping at Cape Coast for the preparation towards the 2014/2015 Division one league season.
The team left Tamale on Sunday the 22nd September for a week stay in the Eastern Region and part of the plan is to familiarise the team with the Division two satellite club Be Just FC in Cape Coast, they left Tamale at 6:30am and arrived in Cape Coast at 7:00pm.
The young Kasalans of Tamale are yet to lose a game when they crashed Be just FC in their first game 2-1 on Monday the 23rd. Another game played on Wednesday saw the team through to their second win in the preparation by 4-2 against a second division side from Cape Coast. The third game gave the team a good test on Thursday when they drew 1-1 to Coach De Graf Academy that is also preparing for a tournament in Italy in October. Another good test was against the veteran Ghana International star Nii Odarty Lamptey Academy on Friday when TUFA won 2-1.
The team is played their last game on Saturday against their friends Be just FC which happened to be the return game, the game ended 3-0 for TUFA.
The results of the one week exercise in Cape Coast showed how focus TUFA is towards the upcoming Division one league whiles their three counterparts in Tamale (Real Tamale United, Guan United and the newly promoted side, Dynamos FC) are also seriously in their preparation processes.
The last year promoted team to the Division one league is likely to withdraw in this year’s competition due to financial difficulties.
