HEARTS EDGE OUT TAMALE UTRECHT IN FA CUP

Accra Hearts of Oak today sailed through to the round of 32 in the MTN FA Cup competition after recording an emphatic 3-0 win against Tamale Utrecht Football Academy a the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The Phobians scored all three goals in the second half after struggling in the first half. The Kasalans were tactical in the first 45 minutes but threw away their concentration after the break leaving their guest to dominate in the game.

Accra Hearts of Oak new signing James Bissue scored a stunning free kick that deflected from the head of Wadudu Fuseini into the net to open the scoring for his side. Hearts added the second through Windfil Kwabena and snap the third to consolidate their lead from former RTU right back Owusu Bempah.

In other matches Real Tamale United was crashed out in the competition losing g 3-0 at Dormaa to Aduana Stars whilst Tamale Liberty Babies and Dynamos FC failed in their bid to progress to the next stage after conceding 4-0 in their respective matches to Prestige FC and King Faisal.

Meanwhile, the Young Kasalans won their friendly match 2-1 when they hosted Republicans colts’ side prior to the TUFA Hearts match
