EXCITEMENT GALORE IN CLUB MANAGEMENT CLASH

History was made on Saturday at the Kasalgu academy complex when management and supporters of three rival division one clubs participated in a friendly game to strengthen their frontiers for peaceful coexistence and collective development of the game in the region.

The friendly match which was played between management and supporters of Tamale Utrecht and Galaxy FC had Guan United officiating in the intriguing and exciting encounter that ended 2 goals apiece.

Despite the laughter and excitement drawn from the difficulty some of the players encountered with the ball that they had always criticised players for, the crowd witnessed flashy moments of former Black Stars and RTU players Shilla Alhassan and Alhassan Habib for TUFA and Rashid Amoateng and Alala Sylla for Galaxy FC.

The two clubs were led to the field by their respective captains Alhaji Amin Abeo, Galaxy FC President and Arc Jawhari Baba-Duah, TUFA technical director.

‘FIFA referee’ Baba Nuhu Mallam of Guan United demonstrated why his club is the oldest in the division one league as the middle man and was assisted on the lines by Guan United Head coach Mumin and Kojo White.

TUFA was more comfortable in the game after taking a commanding lead in the first half. The Kasalans enjoyed possession and was very strong in defence rendering Alhaji Abeo and Alala Sylla ineffective upfront. Shilla Alhassan put TUFA ahead from a well executed counter down the right. The lead was extended when TUFA team manager Alhassan Habib rounded goalkeeper Yussif Vander Saa to score from close range.

Galaxy FC took over control of the game in the second half playing in the Kasalan half after coach Muazz Choo had pulled out the influential captain Jawhari Baba-Duah and Mashud Whereabouts.

The visitors scored from the spot through Rashid Amoateng and grabbed the equaliser late in the game after dominating in the game.

‘It was an exciting exercise as it has brought us together from different backgrounds in terms of club management’ Jawhari said.

Alhaji Mohmmed Amin Abeo also spoke to tufaghanafc.com, ‘today has opened the gates for us to focus as a family with a common agenda to take over dominance of clubs in the Northern region in the Zone 1A as the case in the Brong Ahafo region’.

Similar games are expected in future between the clubs to strengthen their relationships.
