Diminutive striker Adam A. Basit grabbed a brace in Tamale Utrecht 6-2 drubbing of Al-Itifaq at the Kasalgu Academy Complex on Sunday in a friendly.

Speedster Vincent Deyi was the first to hit the back of the net on the 7th minute from a free kick just outside the penalty area and TUFA again the rattled the nets on the 18th minute when Adam A. Basit headed home from close range.

Midfielder Hamdan Yakubu scored his first goal of the season when he intelligently directed his kick to the far corner of the net on 28th minute which was followed by Adam A. Basit second goal of the match on the 36th minute. Basit missed an opportunity to register the first hat trick of the season when his spot kick was saved after he was brought down in the penalty area.

In the second half, the visitors pulled a goal back but could not contain the incessant pressure in their goal area and conceded again from substitute Simon Blaise powerful drive on 52nd minute.

Skipper Issahaku A. Kadiri then completed the goal haul of the Kasalans when he kicked from his right foot to beat the goalkeeper.

In a post match briefing, Technical Director Jawhari Baba Dua congratulated the team so far in their pre-season performance. He noted that the team could still do more as they play their last match in Tamale before travelling to Sunyani for the rest of their pre season friendly matches next week.

He also stressed on discipline as the team will not make room for any deviant behaviour.
