TUFC RECORDS AWAY WIN IN MAIDEN REGIONAL DIVISION TWO COMPETITION

Dubbed the el classico of northern regional division two league, the opening match between the host Galaxy FC and new entrants Tamale Utrecht football club lived up to its billing when the packed crowd at the Tamale Kaladan Park witnessed one of the finest football in the region in recent times that saw TUFC running away with maximum points.

The game took off 15 minutes late due to some torrential rains recorded at the park. TUFC gained control of the game immediately after kick off but failed to utilize their chances in the early part of the first half. The visitors enjoyed better possession in the first half that ended scoreless.

In the second half of the game Tamale Utrecht continue to dominate but had their efforts frustrated by a strongly built Galaxy defence. The dead lock in the action packed game was finally broken five minutes to regulation time when Adam A. Basit shot into the net in a goal mouth melee to give TUFC a vital away win.

In the other zone one pairings Allstars on Saturday beat visiting Gangdu Stars 3-0 whilst Liberty professionals mauled visiting Sankpala united 5-0.Sky FC rested for this week pairings.

Three clubs shall qualify from this zone for the next round of matches to determine the champions for the northern region division two competition. A total of 8 zones are involved in this competition.
