MTN FA CUP THIRD TIER DRAW ON TUESDAY
3 December, 2012
The much awaited MTN FA Cup draw for the second and third division clubs to kick start this year’s championship is scheduled for Tuesday December 4, 2012 in Accra.
Tufaghanafc.com can exclusively reveal that, the competition which was earlier announced to start on December 9 was rescheduled for December 16, following the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana.
The knockout competition will set a preliminary stage for the division two and three clubs for promotion to the next stage of the competition where they will be meeting all the 48 division one clubs. A total of sixteen premiership clubs are expected to be part of the competition at the 1-64th stage.
The Northern region will present Dynamos FC, Tamale Allstars, Tamale Liberty Babies and a fourth club yet to be determined by the RFA for the preliminary stage of the competition.
Meanwhile division one campaigners in the region, Guan United, Tamale Utrecht and Galaxy FC will join the action in January when the promotions of the lower divisions are concluded.
Struggling Real Tamale United, currently pinned to the bottom of the Ghana premier league with 4 points after 10 matches will make appearance at the FA Cup in the round of 64.
