TUFA RESUMES TRAINING AHEAD OF NEW SEASON

4 September, 2012

Tamale Utrecht Football Academy Division one side is set to resume training on Wednesday ahead of the 2012/13 season at the Kasalgu Complex.

Head coach Rashid Osman is expecting a congregation of 30 players at the Kasalgu complex to go through the first day training sessions.

The team will be without TUFA marksmen Jafaru A. Somed and Alhassan Kalusha who are far away in the Namibian capital of Windhoek where they are tying up with FC Tura Majic.

However, the technical team is expected to find replacements for the talented duo and also fill up weak positions in the team from a pool of 8 new players that are joining the current team for the pre-season training.

Tamale Utrecht will be expecting to qualify for the 2012/13 middle league play-off after a poor competition in their maiden appearance in the division one league last season. The Kasalans are also expected to do better in the MTN FA Cup competition where they exited in the round of 64 last season.

‘We are going into a long season full of competitions and the team should be prepared for the task ahead. We will go through a well structured pre-season training that is intended to offer the players absolute fitness and tactical discipline ahead of the new season’ Technical Director, Jawhari Baba-Duah noted.

Meanwhile TUFA U-13 will report for the new academic year and football season on Friday September 7, 2012 and will also resume training under head coach Osman Rashid.
