WAKASO SCORES DEBUT GOAL IN ESPANYOL DEFEAT
19 August, 2012
A first half goal from Mubarak Wakaso drew Espanyol parity with Real Malllorca in the La Liga but was not enough to save his side from defeat after they conceded a second from a Tormer Hemed strike in the 85th minute on Sunday.
The Ghana international pulled down Cristian Gomez`s raking pass, cut inside and shot across Dudu Aouate into the bottom corner in the 6th minute to cancel a 2nd minute lead by Mallorca.
Espanoyl however failed to hold on to a point in their away encounter and conceded late in the game to give away valuable points in the opening matches of the La Liga.
Wakaso who joined Espanyol from relegated Villarreal was replaced in the 69th minute mark by Alfonso.
