Abdul Majid Warris hopeful of Black Stars call up
28 June, 2012
Sweden-based Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris is hoping to have his Black Stars breakthrough after head coach Kwesi Appiah visited him on Monday at his base in Goteborg.
The 20-year-old made his debut for the Black Stars in February this year as a second half substitute in the friendly against Chile.
The former Tamale Standfast colts club and Right to Dream Soccer Academy player is remaining positive of joining the Black Stars ahead of the 2013 African Nations qualifiers in September.
“I just have to keep on working hard and improve on my performance. I was happy and I really appreciate his (Coach Kwesi Appiah) visit. I think if I’m able to maintain my form then I have a good chance of making it to the Black Stars”, he Said.
Waris leads the Swedish top flight league scorers’ chart with 12 goals from 12 matches.
