‘OUR PERFORMANCE WAS BELOW AVERAGE’ – TECHNCIAL DIRECTOR

Tamale Utrecht Football Academy technical director has bemoaned the performance of the division one side in a friendly match despite winning 2-1 against Victory Stars at the BATCO field on Thursday.

The home side opened scoring in the first half after TUFA two central defensive pair of Mohammed Alhassan and Ali Umar failed to close down on an opponent to score from inside the penalty area.

The Kasalans lacked team cohesion and failed to play as a unit to the amazement of soccer fans who were expecting TUFA to beat their opponents by a wider margin.

However it was Victory stars that took control over the game and dictated the pace leaving their guest wondering about in the field.

The host returned from recess looking more composed but was caught off guard when Abdul Wahab Mumuni sneaked off to beat an offside trap to lobby above the goalkeeper from Alhassan Kalusha pass for the equalizer.

Coach Nurudeen Shamuna side, begun to lose concentration in defense and one such instances gave away a goal for TUFA after Abdul Mutallib Saeed who was seemingly in an offside position shot powerfully to beat the goalkeeper to earn his side the win.

However, the TUFC technical director Mr. Jawhari Baba-Duah was not convinced about the TUFA player’s performance, noting that a lot need to be done by the players if they intend to gain higher professional status in football.

The team its weekend matches on Friday at the Kasalgu complex on Friday against Dyanmos FC.
