U-13 WIN TO KEEP CLEAN SHEET
17 June, 2012
Tamale Utrecht football academy Under 13 side today fought hard to win 3-2 against northern regional colts U-13 champions, Zaytuna FC at the Kasalgu complex.
The Kasala young giants were shocked in the first half when Zaytuna went ahead in the game and struggled to equalize through Mohammed Naeem after pining their opponents in their half.
The guest played a compact game in defence, replica of the Chelsea style against Barcelona in the European champion’s league and got their second goal in the second half after breaking away on a counter to score from close range.
However, substitute Mohammed Abdul Majeed redeemed the goal after 5 minutes for Tamale Utrecht when he connected home with a shot through the legs of the goalkeeper.
Tamale Utrecht that though laboured from the defensive strategy of their guest created the chances and should have converted through Alhassan Sherif, Mohammed Naeem and Mohammed Sadat.
The win for the Kasalans arrived four minutes to regulation time when Mohammed Naeem scored outside the penalty area to wild jubilations from the pocket of supporters who had come from Kasalgu to watch the match.
Right back Alhassan Abdul Rahim who played an excellent game in defense with his deftly touches won the man of the match and the week best player award.
