Playing its maiden friendly match at the Kasalgu complex, Tamale Utrecht football academy division one side needed nothing less than victory to open the flood gates of successes after plucking a 2-0 win against division two side Al-Itifaq on Friday.

The Kasalgu giants put up a spirited performance from their previous 1-0 win against Ghanasco, a day earlier scored in the second half after Alhassna Kalusha dribbled pass goalkeeper Kadiri to make history for himself.

He thus registered his name in history books as the player to score the first goal at the academy for the senior side after its inauguration.

Alhassan Kalusha who had a brilliant day failed to cap his performance with second goal when he misdirected a rebound from a Jafaru Somed thunderbolt that hit the woodwork.

TUFA took absolute control of midfield and pinned their opponents to their own half throughout the second half after what looked like balance exchanges in the first half.

Musah Tuarik who has so far enjoyed his new position in the defensive midfield role played yet another good game compelling his full backs to make excellent runs on the flanks with his incisive passes.

Captain Mohammed Awal Issah made such excellent runs on the right flank supporting the attack in most instances and came close to scoring in the penalty area.

The hardworking captain drive on the right was paid off when his cross was met by Yakubu Hamdan who dribbled through to the penalty area and unleashed a right foot shot into the net to complete a good day for TUFA.
