GUAN FAIL IN DOUBLE OVER TUFC

Guan united hopes of making it double over their less experienced local counterparts Tamale Utrecht was jolted when they managed a pulsating 1-1 draw against their host at the Tamale Stadium annex on Saturday.

Thus, Guan united middle league ambition hangs in the balance as they face stiff competition with Yeji Juventus for the last slot of the zone 1A qualification to the middle league.

Guan United shot into the lead midway into the second half through Abdulai Gazale and were cruising to a 1-0 repeat of the first round after the game had passed regulation time.

However ,Tamale Utrecht pushed all men forward in injury time and got their efforts paid off when Iddrisu Osman niche a pass just outside the penalty area to Saeed Abdul Mutallib who shot powerfully into the net beating goalkeeper Mohammed Bashiru to it.

Tamale Utrecht has thus boosted their chances of staying in the division one league but need wins in their two remaining matches to survive a difficult and intriguing division one season.

Meanwhile, Bazooka FC beat Nandom Black Bulls 2- 0 at Wa making a double over their local counterparts who are struggling a the bottom of the league.

Real Tamale United will seek to consolidate their position on the table with a win over Yeji Juventus on Sunday whilst Upper East United rest for the weekend pairings.
