PLAYERS TOLD DESTINY LIES IN THIER HANDS

31 April, 2012

The chief executive officer of Tamale Utrecht Mr. Abdulai Alhassan has told his players that they remain an entity to be blamed for the club failure to chalk successes in recent times and that the determination of their future lies in them and not the club, since they have been provided with the needed logistics and motivation to become successful adults in future. This he said at a crunch meeting held today to unravel the moth surrounding the club abysmal performance in the last three matches played in the division one league.

The CEO was very emphatic and challenged the players to prove that they are equal to the task in an institution that several players are knocking at its doors and for that matter should turn around the dip in their performance. ‘Your current posture does not reflect the motivation that the team gives you.’ He said at the meeting.

‘Your performance is par below excellence for a club that hitherto was competitive and feared by most cubs’ he fumed.

He was disappointed at the lack of commitment and passion demonstrated by the players in the 2-0 loss to Black Bulls on Sunday. Another intriguing revelation made were the players self declaration of poor attitudes towards matches or club assignments by their colleagues despite efforts made by management to appeal to their conscience to become professional players.

The CEO mentioned the readiness of the technical team to plug out players who are not willing to play and achieve results for the team and themselves and will open doors for players dedicated, hardworking and disciplined to fill in their positions.

Vincent Dey who missed the TUFC Nandom duel on injury recalled with pain, the indifferent attitudes of players when the team is beaten and cited the 3-0 loss to RTU a week ago where players showed no remorse and seemingly appeared happy with the results.

Tamale Utrecht still lies 6th on the league standings with only 3 points separating them and Black Bulls on the 7th position but with a case pending at the disciplinary committee.

The club will need to step up its performance in order to avoid relegation in the division one league.
