DOUBLE AGONY FOR TUFC IN NANDOM DUEL

Tamale Utrecht suffered a 2-0 humiliating loss to Nandom Black Bulls in the return fixture of the polytank division one league on Sunday in Nandom and got an accompanying saloon car in an accident on their return home.

The car that belonged to a supporter Haruna Alhassan skidded off the road on the Sawla-Damongo link after it was left behind by the club bus. The car was sent off into the bushes and was stopped after it had crashed a tree, that according to Mashud Whereabouts who escaped unhurt with two other persons in the car.

The team assisted and pulled out the car from the forest and was towed away by the bus to the main Tamale-Kumasi road.

The club had earlier been reflecting over their 2-0 loss to Nandom Black Bulls that scored two first half goals to unsettle their guest. Tamale Utrecht made changes to its usual tactical play by stop gap Abu Imoro who recorded loss in his first match.

Tamale Utrecht reeled under intense pressure in most part of the game and created few opportunities after their host had taken an early lead in the game.

Coach Abu moro made seven changes to his starting line-up in the RTU match a week ago, bringing in Najimudeen Haruna and Mohammed Kassim ahead of Issahaku A. Kadiri and Adam Ibrahim on the full back positions and that created problems in defence.

The woes of the team was deepened when influential midfielder Iddrisu Osman could not continue play after picking up an injury in the first half and was replaced by Tuarik Musah.

Abdulai Siba and left back Adam Ibrahim could not do much to salvage a point in far away Nandom after they were introduced in the second half for Alidu Yakubu Mohammed Kassim respectively.
