05 March, 2012

Real Tamale Untied and Guan United both recorded 2-0 home wins in their 6thweek zone 1A clashes against Tamale Utrecht and Upper East United respectively.

Real Tamale United, on Sunday needed two second half strikes to ride high in the much hyped local derby that drew the largest crowd for the first time after RTU exit in the premier league last year.

The guest had early control of the game in midfield, frustrating their host to commit fouls and got three RTU players cautioned.

Tamale Utrecht however lost out the steam in the game after striker Jafaru A. Somed failed to punish RTU defence men to give TUFC a goal.

Real Tamale United took charge of the game after recess and punish their guest from a defensive blunder.

TUFC immediately threw back the challenge and Jafaru A. Somed again could have earned his side parity in the game but his resultant kick missed the post narrowly.

Left back Adam Ibrahim who started the game in midfield was replaced by Yakubu Alidu whilst Alidu Mohammed Awal came in for Iddrisu Osman.

TUFC made its final substitution when injured Jafaru A. Somed gave way for Adam A. Basit and could not stop a blunder from goalkeeper Mubarik Jebdon for RTU second goal.

In other results Yeji Juventus earned a point after a scoreless game in Wa against Bazooka FC whilst Bongo United failed to make appearance in their away fixture with Nandom Black Bulls in Wa.
