The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will this year introduced the electronic registration of players for the 3rdtier of Ghana football. Subsequently the old player registration cards will be replaced by the electronic cards for the 2011/2012 regional division two leagues.

In view of that the GFA is undertaking a nationwide exercise to educate clubs on the electronic process of registration. The exercise has been made compulsory for all clubs involved in the division two competitions and clubs in the Northern Region will take their turn on Friday when the GFA team arrives in Tamale for the exercise.

The two day seminar on the electronic registration according to the RFA sources will be held at the conference room at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

About 45 division two clubs will be expected to present computer literate persons for the programme.

Tufaghanafc.com can reveal that the electronic registration was made mandatory by FIFA for all football level competitions in an effort to eradicate the loss of lives of players in football matches across the world.

The registration process therefore involves a cumbersome medical examination and certification of players deemed fit to play football. The system is currently used for the premier and division one leagues
