U-12 JUSTIFY RECORDS MASS TURN OUT

2nd December, 2011

Over hundred players (U-12) turned out today at the Tamasco field to justify their inclusion in Tamale Utrecht Football Academy scheduled to open in May, 2012.

The exercise got off smoothly at 8am with 4 players each coming from about 30 clubs within the Tamale Metropolis. The players demonstrated good sportsmanship and showed tremendous skill and technique on or without the ball.

The players who were randomly selected into 8 groups played in a quarter final, semi final and a final match to offer playing opportunity to each player. Each game travelled 30 minutes to give players enough time to demonstrate their talents on or without the ball.

About 40 players were selected from the competition and are expected to go through further trials for a final selection. Sulemana Abdul Latif of AC Milan colts club was adjudged the most valuable player.

The CEO Mr. Abu Imoro speaking to tufaghanafc.com was elated with the success of the programme and called on the players to continue training especially those who failed to convince the technical team on their performance for selection. ‘The scouting team will monitor the Juvenile league scheduled to start next week and there is therefore an opportunity for you once again to convince the team for selection’. Abu commented.

Mr. Jawhari Baba-Duah, TUFA technical director noted that the final selection would be made after the scouting team had made thorough assessment of the players selected and an extensive coverage of the Juvenile league for more talents is done. He revealed to tufaghanafc.com that the section process will also be extended to other parts of the region and also the Upper East and West regions.
