JAWHARI BABA-DUAH ELECTED TO RFA EXECUTIVE COMMIITTEE

TUFC Technical Director Jawhari Baba-Duah and four others were today elected to the executive committee of the Northern Regional Football Association (RFA) from a total contest of 9 candidates.

Tahiru Mohammed of Wasipe FC earned maximum votes of 34 followed by Abdul Latif Kassim of Pong Tamale United with 30 votes.

Ahmed Baako Alhassan of Gandu FC polled 28 votes whilst Jawhari Baba-Duah and Ofosu Hene of Sawla United polled 26 votes apiece to complete the list of 5 persons required to enter the executive committee.

NDC Northern regional Youth organiser and Regional of Boss of the National Youth employment programme Adam Mohammed Amin Abeo failed to win a place in the executive committee after polling 22 votes. Abubakari Sachibu also failed to retain his place in the executive committee when he lost out in the elections after managing just 9 votes in the polls whilst Atia Junior polled 7 votes to beat Mohammed Asamoah who got only 4 votes.

In his address the RFA chairman congratulated the winners for their elections to the committee and stressed the need for the losing candidates to work together with their colleagues in any way that could promote the development of football in the region. He continued that the RFA having gone through the election will convene a meeting of the executive committee to elect it’s Vice-Chairman as stipulated in article 52.1.1 of the Ghana Football Association.
