TAMALE UTRECHT ON A WEEK LONG BREAK

Northern regional Division 2 champions, Tamale Utrecht football club have begun a week long break on Monday after climaxing their dream qualification to the division one with a party on Sunday night at the Picorna gardens.

The party was used to celebrate the success and offer the opportunity for the players and the management staff to interact with the supporters and sympathisers of the club.

In his address, the chairman of the ceremony Mr. Emmanuel Dogbodzie adviced the players to remain committed to the team and prepare strongly to compete favourably in the division one league since they are bound to meet tougher challenges like Real Tamale United, Guan United, Wa Bazooka FC and Upper East United from their zone.

TUFC, technical director Jawhari Baba Duah indicated that the club played a total 13 matches, lost once, drew twice and won ten matches. He added that the club also scored a record 30 goals in the competition and conceded just two. The highest number of goals scored by the club in a single match was 8 against Sankapala United.

Mr Alhassan Abdallah (Abu Imoro) commended the technical and playing bodies for their effort and commitment that has earned the club the feat and admonished them to strive to achieve greater laurels for the club. He also commended the media for the publicity that it gives to the development of the academy and the region for that matter.

The club shall resume training on Tuesday November 8, 2011 to start preparation for the division one league.
