RAHIM AYEW TO MAKE QUICK RETURN
13th October, 2011
Ghana international Rahim Ayew is to make a quicker-than-expected return to action after he started light training on Monday, MTNFootballl.com can confirm.
The Lierse midfielder was ruled out of action for six weeks after he ruptured a tissue in his right thigh during a Premier League game with Cercle Brugge on 17 September.
But the first son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele is regaining his full fitness, two clear weeks ahead of his targeted recovery date and he is delighted with the process.
“I started light training today and I feel well. I was very disappointed because I was on top of my game and the injury rocked me out,” Ayew told MTNFootball.com.
“It’s very painful when you’re your form is picking up and you get such an injury. But I should join the rest of my colleague in camp this week or latest by early next week.
“If I’m given the green light by the team doctor, I will surely continue from where I left off.”
The 23-year-old is improving his stock since joining from Egyptian giant Zamalek.
