RTU REASSEMBLES AT TRAINING AMID BATTLE OVER OWNERSHIP

27th September, 2011.

The playing body of Real Tamale United (RTU) was on Monday guided through a day’s training session under former coach Mumuni Gamel to begin preparations for the division one league but without the perennial infighting and acrimony amongst management members of the club.

The perennial issue over disunity among the rank and file of the club has in the last five years plunged RTU to fight for survival in the Ghanaian elite league but failed to survive in this year’s attempt and was therefore relegated after 33 years of premiership football. However the club quest to regroup strongly for a quick return to the premiership might not be achieved immediately as factions are emerging within the club to claim ownership.

The Alhaji Alhassan Alolo group (founding fathers) took the initial step to reorganise the club by dissolving the management group that included him, met the playing body and also assigned technical duties to coach Mumuni Gamel to oversee recruitment and preparation of the team ahead of the division one competition.

However this development was rejected and opposed by the acting CEO, Mr Abu Nurudeen and some board members whose administration was dissolved by Alhaji Alhassan Alolo group under the banner of founding members of the club. Mr Abu claimed that he is not aware of any powers arrogated to anybody known as founding members to dissolve a management team that it didn’t put in place and has therefore resisted all attempts to release the club equipments under his custody to the Alolo group for the club to start training.

The club could only manage the day’s training session yesterday at the Kaladan Park whilst the matter has been referred to the Chief of Tamale for settlement.

Tufaghanafc.com can confirm that the Alhaji Alhassan Alolo group seemed to have consolidated their authority on the club and are expected to name an interim management team for the club soon which is currently managed by Alhaji Alhassan Alolo,Mr. Kwaku Duah,Mr Abdallah Kassim and Alhaji Alhassan Madugu.
