Pong-Tamale united were 2 - 1 winners over Tamale Utrecht Football Club in a friendly on Saturday at Pong-Tamale, a suburb of Tamale. Abdul Matinu Sakara scored in each half to give the Pong-Tamale based side the win. The game was drawn up to test the readiness of both sides ahead of the league's second round of matches. The first half was entirely dominated by Pong-Tamale united until the second half when TUFC stepped up their game to create some scoring chances but failed to find the back of the net. The visitors struggled to pull one back just 2minutes to end proceedings through Alidu Yakubu.
